Excuse me …… I think your geek is showing
Now I’m a geek. I denied it for many years, but when it comes down to it, I can nerd out with the best of them. But even I have lines that can’t be crossed. The link below is one of them. LOL. Good stuff!

I really like this song. I think the lyrics are applicable to all of us.

No commentsVegas Day 4 – The journey home
Well after staying up until 4 am on Friday, we slept as late as we could before getting up and going to the airport. Let me share something with you, the Las Vegas airport is a zoo, when you couple that with signage that is lacking to say the least and some really questionable workforce planning it was not a good time. We waited quite awhile at the Delta check-in counter as they slowly checked the line through. What was amusing to me was that there was maybe 50 people in the coach line with 3 employees checking in passengers, while in the First Class line there was no one with 3 employees checking in first class passengers. Then at 10:30 am out of the 6 people checking in passengers, 4 went on their 10:30 coffee break!!! Wow, really? To say the least I wasn’t happy. After finally making it through the check-in process we headed up to security, again another zoo. But this one seemed to be sufficiently staffed and even though there were hundreds of people descending on the Gate D security check-point every few minutes, the line moved quickly and we were through in no time. After that we stopped and had a quick breakfast and hopped our plane to Salt Lake City.
Once in Salt Lake we had a Cinnabon, a Starbucks and watched some internet videos to pass the time. Finally we boarded our plane and were on our way home to Calgary. Arriving in Calgary we were glad to be greeted by our families and headed home. Below are some photos of some t-shirts I bought the kids from Vegas.

No commentsVegas Day 3 – Becoming Mantastic!!
Friday was Spa Day!!!!
We got up and went for breakfast at Chin Chin again. Then headed to our appointment at the The Spa @ New York-New York. I will spare you all the details as to not invoke riotous jealousy, but suffice to say that it was awesome!!!! After more than 3 hours we were mantastic!!! Below are pictures from Breakfast and the spa.
In the afternoon we headed to the Fashion Show Mall to get some iPhones for Mike and look around. The picture of the lady on the escalator Mike took because she was walking around in the mall with curlers in her hair. CLASSIC!!!
After we had a quick lunch at the mall we walked over by the Wynn and then through the Venetian before heading back to our hotel, below are some pictures from outside these two hotels and then inside the Venetian as well.
The rest of the day we played poker pretty much, although we did go to the most amazing steakhouse off the strip for dinner. If you ever go to Vegas and want an amazing dining experience and have lots of money to spend on dinner, go to Morton’s the Steakhouse. What a great time!!

No commentsVegas Day 2!!
Day 2 was another great day. We got ready and down to Chin Chin for breakfast.
We then decided to head down to Fremont Street as we were under the impression that the Las Vegas Hilton was down there. It wasn’t so we walked around the Golden Nugget and Binions for a bit and then caught a cab to the Hilton. You know, I have to say that I was not overly impressed with the the casinos downtown, it just seems that they have been allowed to slip into a bit of disrepair and are certainly not a representation of the great attraction they once were, which is kinda sad. Fremont street is also not nearly as exciting during the day as it is in the evening when the whole canopy over it is lit up with an amazing light show.
We then went to the Las Vegas Hilton. We decided to take in the Star Trek Experience including the rides “The Klingon Encounter” and “The Borg Invasion 4D), both very hokey but well done none the less. We really enjoyed the whole experience which includes live actors and a very interesting assault on the senses as they really do try and make you feel like you are there. We have no pictures of this as our camera battery had fully discharged, but then again, that means there is no hard evidence that we did this, which could be a good thing. So after feeling a little exposed as our “geek” had been showing for quite a long time, we decided to head back to the hotel, but not before stopping at the David & Goliath store in the Venetian. Let me tell you, these guys have some of the funniest and original t-shirts I have ever seen, edgy, but funny!
At the hotel we hung out, Mike had a nap and I went on got some pampering on my tired feet. The picture below is of my posing (in shoes for some reason) to show off my pampered feet!
We then went over to play some poker at the MGM Grand, neither of us did that great, I won a big hand right before we stopped to bring me just about back to even from where I started for the day. Over all, we are both still up money from poker, so no complaints.
We then went to ESPN Zone and ate dinner and watched the first two periods of the Flames game. After the second period we went back over to the MGM Grand to the KÁ Theatre. What an amazing show!!! We really enjoyed the show and we even got a few shots of the inside of this magnificent theatre.
After the show we were wiped so we just went back to the hotel. Below are some random shots from throughout the day though.
